Sydney Dreves had 32 kills and nine digs as the Columbia River volleyball team opened play in the 2A Greater St. Helens League with a 3-0 win over Hockinson.
The Rapids won 25-18, 25-15, 25-15.
River, which was coming off a 3-0 loss to Prairie, also got 32 assists and five digs from Avery Seley. Sophia Gourley added eight kills and nine digs, and Ava Bond had seven kills and three aces.

- Mason Bluestein, Union boys golf, was even-par 37 at Tri-Mountain for medalist honors in the Titans’ win against Skyview.
- Owen Winn and Luke Potter, Columbia River golf, shot 1-under 35s to lead the Rapids over Ridgefield.
