Letter: Study facts about domestic terrorism

A letter about the Minnesota Freedom Fund and Kamala Harris (“Trump encourages peace,” Our Readers’ Views, Sept. 5) was incorrect, so incorrect.

The MNFreedomFund tweet was distorted — she did not donate, she encouraged donation once, two years before concerns were raised about a single bail paid for by the fund. Harris said the “protests” would not stop (not the riots should not) and condemned the violence. Whoever was in charge of security on Jan. 6, they needed help only then-President Donald Trump could send and he refused.

There is disagreement about who to include in the death count, but the veteran was also a rioter, as were two heart attack victims and one overdose victim (hmmm). Among the police were one stroke victim and four suicides in the aftermath. Too many for something that should never have happened.

Harris does not support domestic terrorists. If anyone does, it is Trump with his “good people on both sides” and encouragement of violence. (Remember his “I’ll pay your bail” promise?) And who is filibustering the Domestic Terrorism Act?

Republicans.

Check your facts. Please. And vote for Harris/Walz.
