Auditions planned for Clark College choirs
Clark College is holding open auditions for the Clark College Chorale, Treble Ensemble and Concert Choir. All three choral groups are open to anyone in the community, regardless of whether they attend Clark College. Auditioners should come prepared to sing a song of their choosing followed by vocal and tonal exercises led by Jacob Funk. All choirs begin rehearsals during the week of Sept. 23 in Beacock Music Hall on Clark College’s main campus at 1933 Fort Vancouver Way, Vancouver.
Deadline extended for mural proposals
The Vancouver Innovation Center (aka the VIC) has extended the deadline to Oct. 12 for artists to submit proposals for a mural. The project’s budget has also been increased to $5,000. The selecting committee is searching for individual artists or artist teams to create “The Future of the VIC,” a mural representing the “quintessential east Vancouver destination where culture and the outdoors intersect, where business and leisure seamlessly intermingle and where local communities gather,” according to submission guidelines.
