A Portland man died in a crash early Wednesday morning on Interstate 205 in Salmon Creek, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Shortly after midnight, Gustavo A. Morales, 24, was driving a 2007 Nissan Frontier north when his vehicle veered to the left and struck a tree near Milepost 36, according to a State Patrol crash memo. It was unknown why the vehicle left the road.
Morales was not wearing a seat belt, and he died at the scene.
Troopers did not know if drugs or alcohol were involved. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
