The Port of Ridgefield and the Watershed Alliance of Southwest Washington will host a waterfront litter cleanup at the Ridgefield waterfront next week.

The cleanup, which will be 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 14, is part of the alliance’s ongoing stewardship program to protect and enhance green spaces in the region.

Volunteers will meet at the boat ramp at the end of Mill Street and remove litter along the shores of Lake River and other parts of the waterfront. Volunteers should wear closed-toed shoes, dress appropriately for the weather and bring snacks and water, the port said in a news release.

“The Watershed Alliance does great work for our community and the region, and we’re pleased to partner with them on another litter cleanup event,” port CEO Randy Mueller said in a news release.
