Letter: Support Harris for president

By Douglas J. Munson, VANCOUVER
Published: September 4, 2024, 6:00am

What scares me more than Donald Trump running for reelection are his vocal and financial supporters. He is a convicted felon, a pathological liar and his political rhetoric about everybody except himself is repulsive. He even has evangelical Christians convinced of his piety, yet their commitment to him speaks volumes about their own moral compass. Do his supporters really believe his incessant lies and think they’ll be measured by his success? I feel sorry for all of them.

But I believe there are enough smart voters that see past his bombast. I think there are enough smart voters that still believe in saving our democracy, supporting a candidate who will lead with integrity and fairness and one who will make ethical decisions. Kamala Harris, for the people.
