Amazon has started operating out of its distribution center west of Burlington.

The facility, which is on Bay Ridge Drive east of Skagit Regional Airport, has been in the works since late 2020.

It includes a 112,000-square-foot building and a 1,000-spot parking lot.

The facility is a delivery station, the last stop in Amazon’s distribution network before packages reach customers. Employees will receive trucks full of orders and prepare them for delivery.

“We are pleased to announce that initial operations have commenced at our Burlington delivery station, located near the Skagit Regional Airport,” Amazon spokesperson Matthew Gardea said in a Monday email. “This facility plays a crucial role in our commitment to providing efficient and reliable delivery services to our customers.”
