Letter: Reject Initiative 2117

By Sharon Sollenberger, VANCOUVER
Published: October 31, 2024, 6:00am

Please vote “no” on Initiative 2117. The initiative will take away one-third of the state budget for transportation. It will take away funding for forest management and wildfire prevention. It will take away funding for cleaning up our water supply and air pollution.

More than 350 organizations oppose this initiative, including the Washington State Council of Fire Fighters, Washington State Nurses Association and the Washington State Education Association. This initiative will not decrease costs for working families.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
