Letter: Reject Initiative 2109

By Grace Carolus, CAMAS

Vote “no” on Initiative 2109. Although it is framed as a beneficial tax cut to everyone, it will only help the richest people in Washington. Not many people have capital gains over $250,000. It may seem like something that is still good because nobody likes taxes, but all it will do is defund public schools that are already underfunded. My school district has been going through budget cuts before this, so how will it afford to keep going after?

Vote “no” to keep the money in Washington schools where it belongs and keep our children educated.
