The Ridgefield school board on Oct. 22 appointed Amanda Ronstadt to fill the seat vacated when Emily Enquist resigned.
Ronstadt will hold the position until the November 2025 election. She was selected from a list of three finalists. She has a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Montana, a master’s degree in plant science from the University of Arizona’s College of Agriculture and a secondary science teaching certificate from the University of Arizona.
Ronstadt moved to Ridgefield 16 years ago with her husband and began teaching biology and physical science at Fort Vancouver High School. Later, she taught horticulture science at Columbia River and Hudson’s Bay high schools, according to the district’s news release.
Ronstadt coached six seasons with the Pacific Soccer Club, her daughter’s team, while also participating in Citizens for Ridgefield Schools, Union Ridge Elementary School’s events, park cleanups and the city of Ridgefield’s Multicultural Festival.
