Prep highlights: Columbia River girls soccer wraps up fourth straight 2A GSHL title

Columbia River girls soccer sits atop the 2A Greater St. Helens League for a fourth straight season.

The Rapids wrapped up the league title with a 3-0 win over R.A. Long on the final night of the regular season Tuesday.

Columbia River (13-1-0-1) finishes with 40 points, two ahead of second-place Ridgefield (13-1-1-0). Both the Rapids and Spudders will host first-round matches in the District 4 playoffs on Saturday.

Ivy Henderson opened the scoring with a first-half goal. Julia Rapp and Makayla Hundt added goals in the second half.

Stars of the day

  • Bridgette Hollifield and Sienna DiCristina, Kalama girls soccer, accounted for all three goals in a 3-2 win over King’s Way Christian. Hollifield had two goals, one assisted by DiCristina, and DiCristina scored on an assist from Hollifield.
  • Emma Gonzalez, Woodland girls soccer, scored on a free kick in overtime of a 1-0 victory over Washougal.
  • Isabelle Walker, Ridgefield volleyball, had nine aces in a three-set win over R.A. Long.
  • Sydney Dreves and Sophia Gourley, Columbia River volleyball, each had 14 kills in a sweep of Mark Morris.
  • Alina Shawgo, Skyview volleyball, had a team-high 11 kills and three blocks in a sweep of Union.
  • Amelia Stewart, Hockinson girls soccer, scored the eventual winning goal in a 2-1 win over Mark Morris.
  • Ky Smith, Fort Vancouver girls soccer, scored in the second half of a 1-0 win over Stevenson.
  • Esther Langeliers, La Center volleyball, had a team-high 24 kills in a four-set win over Seton Catholic as the Wildcats remained unbeaten in 1A Trico League play.
  • Gabi Reyes, Evergreen volleyball, had 18 digs and eight aces in a sweep of Heritage.
  • Ella Thompson, Camas volleyball, had 17 kills and 12 digs in a four-set win over Prairie as the Papermakers improved to 14-1 this season.
