Letter: We need Perez in Congress

I am a conservative Democrat who supports Marie Gluesenkamp Perez.

I trust her in Congress to work for the good of Southwest Washington. She is honest and understands the complexities of Washington, D.C., and how to get bills through. She’s willing to work across the aisle without regard to how it affects her party.

I cannot trust Joe Kent. From the outset, he is mired in party politics. He will not compromise when surrounded by MAGA representatives. I appreciate his service to the country, but he is clearly taking a “no retreat” stance and is only interested in creating power for himself.

Marie has done a great job in representing us here, without compromising her values. We need her in D.C. to continue her important work.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
