Letter: Reelect Perez to Congress

By Jeanine Tweedie, Long Beach
Published: October 28, 2024, 6:00am

Our community deserves the best, and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez is doing an impressive job in Congress. In the last two years, she has put the needs of Southwest Washington before party line or corporate donors. She works with colleagues on both sides of the aisle with bipartisan sponsorship and passage of numerous bills in the House that are in our best interest.

Marie is ranked as the most bipartisan member of Congress in Washington state and 12th in the nation.

She has introduced legislation to end fentanyl trafficking with local task forces and increase support for local law enforcement and first responders. She is endorsed by the National Narcotics Officers Association, Major County Sheriffs of America and the Washington State Narcotics Investigators Association. Marie is working to increase access to child care and medical care for veterans.

Marie has held in-person meetings with constituents and community leaders. She has met with farmers, fishermen, crabbers, veterans, tribal members and small businesses in our district. She holds local mobile office hours to resolve constituents’ issues with the IRS, Veterans Affairs, and Social Security agencies. Make the best choice by reelecting Marie Gluesenkamp Perez to Congress.
