VANCOUVER — As part of the 2024 Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program, the city of Vancouver will fund three neighborhood traffic calming projects to help address traffic concerns and speeding. This competitive program, with roughly 100 applications this year, allows Vancouver residents to advocate for traffic calming on their neighborhood streets. Projects awarded funding as part of the 2024 program are:

  • Northeast 137th Avenue, from Northeast Fourth Street to Northeast Ninth Street, in the Emerald Landing neighborhood.
  • Northwest Lincoln Avenue, from Northwest 39th Street to Northwest 58th Street in the Lincoln and Northwest neighborhoods.
  • East Evergreen Boulevard, from North Grand Avenue to North Blandford Drive in the Edgewood Park neighborhood.

Specific traffic calming elements, usually speed tables, will be determined and designed during the winter, with construction anticipated for late summer or fall of 2025.

Funding for the Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program is available through a combination of real estate excise tax, transportation benefit district fees and multiple other revenue sources, providing an approximate budget of $300,000 for this year’s program.
