Letter: Reject Initiative 2117

By Don Steinke, Vancouver

Several years ago, my state senator said that Republicans prefer incentives over mandates. So do the Democrats. That’s why we have the Climate Commitment Act. It raises money for incentives for clean-air projects, such as for electric school buses, heating system upgrades for schools and wildfire prevention.

Our Climate Commitment Act benefits every part of Clark County. Initiative 2117 would repeal the Climate Commitment Act. Initiative 2117 will hurt every part of Clark County.

Read your Voters’ Pamphlet starting on page 17. Protect our children’s health and future. Protect the incentives. Vote “no” on 2117.
