Letter: City councilors don’t listen

My wife and I moved to our home on McGillivray seven years ago because we love the boulevard. It is easy to drive and beautiful to watch along its three miles. About 90 percent of the people in Cascade Park do not want our street destroyed by taking it down to one lane each way. The city council seems to want to force its will on the people who live here. Sadly, they are not listening to constituents and are not acting like elected representatives, but like authoritarian dictators.

Do any of them live in Cascade Park? Why would they want to clog our boulevard and inconvenience us? Along with others, I have worked to inform people in our neighborhood of the destructive plans. I have recently retired from 42 years of encouraging and supporting students as a public school educator. I have never responded the way I feel I have to respond to the council. If they continue pushing a selfish agenda to destroy our street, I will work even harder to see that they are not reelected.
