Take a free tour of Vancouver’s Providence Academy, 400 E. Evergreen Blvd., or Marshall House, 1301 Officers Row, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays through Dec. 20. (Tours involve climbing stairs.) Mother Joseph built Providence Academy in 1873. Marshall House’s Queen Anne architecture features stained glass and decorative woodwork. Walk-ins are welcome for both tours but reservations are encouraged at thehistorictrust.org/tours/. Tours are subject to volunteer availability.
Righting a wrong
The Historic Trust will host “Coming Home: How the Nez Perce Tribe Regained Their Cultural Heritage” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at the Red Cross Building, 605 Barnes St., Vancouver. Presenter Trevor James Bond will explore how the Nez Perce Tribe purchased the largest and oldest collection of Nez Perce material culture from a museum more than 2,000 miles away from the tribe’s homeland. Bond is the author of “Coming Home to Nez Perce Country: The Niimiipuu Campaign to Repatriate Their Exploited Heritage,” a finalist for the 2022 Washington State Book Award for nonfiction.
Fall frolic
Columbia Springs will host a Fall Fest Nature Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at 12208 S.E. Evergreen Highway, Vancouver. All ages will enjoy a day of hands-on science and nature exploring fall. Scary sounds
The Music Teachers Association of Clark County will present a benefit concert at 3 p.m. Sunday at Fairway Village Clubhouse, 15509 S.E. Fernwood Drive, Vancouver. Thirteen Clark County music teachers will present a concert of spooky and enticing musical selections in honor of Halloween. Proceeds support scholarship funds for local music students.
