The Clark Conservation District is now offering reimbursements to eligible residents for major and minor repairs to on-site sewage systems through the Poop Smart Clark Septic Reimbursement Program.

The Poop Smart program is a voluntary initiative offering financial and technical assistance to county residents to reduce bacterial pollution from fecal coliform and E. coli in local watersheds. Eligible parties with on-site systems are encouraged to complete the sign-up form to verify eligibility and reserve funding for reimbursements.

Funding for major repairs of up to $20,000 is limited and will be awarded on a ranking system prioritized by water-quality impact and financial need. All major repair reimbursements require prior approval of services and completion of the cost-share process.

Applicants may also be eligible for reimbursements of up to $1,130 for minor repairs, pumping and inspections, funded on a first-come, first-served basis.

To complete the sign-up form to verify eligibility and for more information, go to poopsmartclark.org, or contact Mackenzie Barron-Tai at 360-859-4848 or poopsmart@clarkcd.org.
