Letter: Truth is biggest election issue

Members and supporters of the Trumplican Party like Joe Kent and JD Vance, as well as broadcast and print media, have it all wrong. The most important issue for voters is not the Mexican border or the economy or inflation or women’s rights or Bibles in schools or democracy under threat or taxes or bridge tolls or light rail or climate change. The single most important issue before voters is lying.

It comes from both sides, but we all know Donald Trump is the biggest liar ever to be known in this country and now he has an accomplished and slicker than silicone vice president candidate to run with. After watching the recent debate between Marie Perez and Joe Kent and his inability to answer questions directly, it’s obvious he has been brainwashed into believing lying is the way to go.

There’s an old saying that goes “The truth hurts.” There sure seems to be a lot of people who are very afraid of the pain associated with being honest.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
