Letter: Support Initiative 2066

Washington voters have a ballot measure (Initiative 2066) to repeal legislation to reduce natural gas use in the state. The worry is if this stands, will there be enough appliances, water heaters and furnaces to keep using gas in homes that depend on natural gas? If the market is reduced, fewer manufacturers will provide products.

The cost to rewire and convert homes to all electric will be very expensive with no help offered from the state. Some estimates are over $50,000. We also have growing number of data centers in the Northwest using electricity.

Where will the electricity be generated to convert homes to electric and power the electric vehicles and continue dependable internet usage?

Like the ATM, something must be in the power grid before it can be taken out. Vote “yes” on I-2066.
