Letter: Vote for peace, justice

Injustice is the root of all evil. Harmful ideologies and greed are the roots of injustice. Throw in the power to act and you have the potential for extreme acts of evil. With our government’s unconditional support, a genocide is playing out in the occupied Palestinian territories. The Israeli government, not content to live in peace within its recognized 1967 borders, desires to grab more land from the indigenous Palestinian people. About 5 million Palestinians continue to live under an illegal Israeli occupation in the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem. The current sociopathic Israeli government wants them gone by expulsion or by genocide, both crimes against humanity.

Brown University’s Costs of War Project estimates the death toll in Gaza to be over 114,000 or about 5 percent of Gaza’s population. Our government is directly financing the genocide with $17.9 billion to date. Let’s elect peace with justice candidates who support human development rather than endless wars.

Marie Gluesenkamp Perez and Maria Cantwell do not deserve our vote. They consistently voted to fund the genocide. As president, Green Party candidate Jill Stein would better represent American interests at home and abroad.
