Letter: Vote to work together

My question to every voter is, if you really check in with yourself, in your heart of hearts do you really want our country to be driven by fear, hate, retribution, vengeance, anger, violence? Or do you feel as I do that our country is better off coming together to create a future in which everyone can thrive? There are many people in our country who are working to create such a future in their own neighborhoods and communities.

Let’s elect a president and representatives who work together at the national level in a respectful, honest way to solve problems. Many of our systems of government, education, health care and the like have deficiencies created through many decisions made over many decades. We can change those without blowing it all up if we engage in thoughtful conversation with input from many different perspectives and communities. We are all in this together.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
