Letter: Plan, consult on downtown changes

By Michael Piper, Vancouver

I read with appreciation that the Smith Tower Apartments will be going through some much-needed renovation. I also have been following the proceedings of the Interstate Bridge Replacement Program, specifically the draft environmental impact statement plan. Which begs the question, if the city and the IBR know that there are proposed impacts to existing or planned properties in Vancouver, I would hope that there is consultation with the city planners and with project sponsors.
