Letter: Keplar is not fit for office

Chuck Keplar is too extreme for public office. In response to a LifePac questionnaire, he stated that abortion should not be allowed in cases of rape, incest, or to save the life of the mother. This stance undermines the autonomy of women but also disregards the complexities and traumas they face in such situations.

Forcing victims of rape and incest to carry an unwanted pregnancy to term can exacerbate their suffering and prolong their trauma. Denying life-saving medical procedures puts both women and unborn children at risk.

Chuck Keplar’s position reflects a troubling disregard for women’s health and rights.
