Letter: Keep Perez in Congress

By Mike Burton, Vancouver
Published: October 19, 2024, 6:00am

Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez is co-chair of the Blue Dog Democratic Caucus. This group of Democratic Party members advocates pragmatic, constituency-based politics with an emphasis on fiscal responsibility. Since she took office, inflation has been down, employment has been up, the stock market has been rising and the gross domestic product has been up.

Perez brings a welcome, constituency-based voice to the musty halls of Congress and we need to keep her there.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
