Letter: Support Upthegrove for lands

By Mark Leed, Vancouver
Published: October 18, 2024, 6:00am

Dave Upthegrove is the clear choice for commissioner of public lands. Dave is a lifelong conservation champion who grounds his decisions on the best science. In the Legislature, he worked across the aisle to protect Puget Sound and strengthen ties between environmental and labor advocates. As head of the Department of Natural Resources, he will prioritize protecting our legacy forests, expanding recreational access, and improving wildfire prevention and response. That’s why he’s been endorsed by the Washington State Council of Firefighters and the Washington State Labor Council.

I urge you to join them in supporting Dave Upthegrove.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
