Letter: No accountability in NFL

What is going on with the officiating in the NFL? Whenever I watch a football game, it seems like the officials at the game are making a bunch of bad calls and missing a bunch of calls and the team I want to win has gotten screwed over many times. I’m originally from Ohio and I grew up a Cincinnati Bengals fan and they often get screwed over a lot, especially if it’s against teams from bigger markets like New York and Los Angeles.

It seems like there’s no accountability whatsoever. This has got to stop. It’s way past time something is done about this.

The first thing that needs to be done is to fine the officials every time they make a bad call or miss a call. I understand they make mistakes and yes that is going to happen because we’re all human and all make mistakes, but deliberately making bad calls or missing calls is unacceptable. This makes the sport unwatchable, too.

It’s also not just NFL either. They have that issue in college football and the Olympic sports, too. Get it together NFL.
