Letter: Think before marking ballot

By Paul Akin, VANCOUVER
Published: October 16, 2024, 6:00am

With the election getting closer and the lies Trump continues to spew, I can’t believe that there are still people that want him to run our country. Even with back-to-back hurricanes, he’s still spreading lies about FEMA. Do you really want someone like this to lead our country?

He’s gotten rid of women’s rights on abortion and was so proud of it and now he’s back-peddling on that. I can’t believe there’s still so many women that still endorse him. As a man I think a woman should be able to make her own decision about her body and I can’t believe any woman would vote for Trump.

I just hope people make the right decision before Election Day and make the U.S. the place where people can love each other again. The United States was built by immigrants, have we all forgotten that? And they earned their citizenship and they probably know more about our democracy and how it works than people that where born here. Trump keeps blaming Kamala Harris for all these things that are wrong; one person can’t right all that’s wrong. Please think long and hard before you ink that box.
