Letter: Reject Initiative 2109

By Von Fuller, Vancouver
Published: October 15, 2024, 6:00am

Initiative 2109 will repeal Washington’s limited capital gains tax, ripping more than $2.2 billion from the education budget over the next five years, which will impact over 1 million children and families solely to provide a tax cut to less than 4,000 of the wealthiest people in Washington.

Of Washington households, 99.8 percent are exempt from paying the capital gains tax. Let’s stand up for our kids, economy and future. Join me in voting “no” on ballot initiative 2109.
