Letter: Democracy is on the line

As we cast our vote, the party-line Democrats have a decision to make. Is one to vote as a JFK Democrat or a Harris, Pelosi, AOC and Schumer Democrat? There is a difference. The current Democratic leadership does not resemble the Democratic Party I registered with over 60 years ago.

Providing you vote as a JFK Democrat, you, in all probability, may expect lower gas prices, lower grocery prices, lower inflation, lower taxes, a dramatic reduction of illegal immigrants coming through our southern border, no biological males participating in women/girls sports and perhaps more freedoms. With a vote as a Harris Democrat, one stands a very small chance of experiencing any of the above.

Your 3rd District representative, Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, voted against HR 734, which forbid biological males from participating in girls sports. We as Americans and Washington residents are fortunate to have the right to vote. I urge everyone to give careful consideration to your choice of candidates. For all those that say democracy is on the line, you are correct.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
