Highway 500 will close in both directions Thursday night in Vancouver near Northeast 54th Avenue and Northeast Stapleton Street.

The closure will be from 9 p.m. Thursday until 5 a.m. Friday. Both directions of Highway 500 between St. Johns Boulevard and Northeast Andresen Road, near Milepost 2.4, will be fully closed.

Nighttime travelers should expect delays or plan a different route.

During the closure, crews will work to set and brace new bridge support beams. This work is part of the intersection improvements project that will add a new pedestrian overcrossing.

A signed detour will guide people using Highway 500 to exit the highway ahead of the closures. Eastbound travelers will be diverted at St. Johns Boulevard and westbound travelers will be diverted at Northeast Andresen Road.
