Letter: Election generates fear

By Leonard Mills, Vancouver
Published: October 11, 2024, 6:00am

With less than 30 days until Election Day, I find it necessary to remove the sign in my front yard for safety reasons. After voting without fear for 64 years, in Portland and now Vancouver, I feel that violence may occur not just in Portland or downtown Vancouver, but within my small community should one of the participants running for president of our country not win.

How our country has gotten to this point is terrifying and I see no solution until honest, respectful, knowledgeable men and women run for office. To date I see very few.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
