Letter: Reject Kent for Congress

By Pamela Tracy, Vancouver
Published: October 10, 2024, 6:00am

Joe Kent is too extreme for Southwest Washington (or anywhere, really). He’s made remarks that align with white nationalists’ views, suggesting there’s nothing wrong with “a white people special interest group,” and he’s referred to Hitler as a “complicated historical figure” who “many people misunderstand.” He’s called for stopping all immigration, both illegal and legal, for 20 years, and he’s made statements that align with pro-Putin narratives regarding the war in Ukraine. He’s a COVID-19 denier and he also supports an abortion ban in every circumstance. Don’t be swooned by Kent’s military service — he’s bad news for Southwest Washington.
