Letter: Ethics are changing

By Ben Johnson, Vancouver
Published: October 10, 2024, 6:00am

A few years ago, I wrote The Columbian expressing my concern about the New Normal Ethic, which was published. My thesis was that if Americans adopted this ethic, it would put America on the slippery slope toward hedonism. Are we there yet? It seems that many Americans accept and allow convenient truth to supplant conventional truth. Again, I ask are we there yet? I don’t know, I am just asking.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
