Clark County officers to be trained to draw blood from suspected impaired drivers

State grant will fund phlebotomy equipment at local police precincts

Up to a dozen Clark County law enforcement officers are set to be trained to draw the blood of suspected impaired drivers for toxicology testing.

A grant from the Washington Traffic Safety Commission will fund the equipment for blood-draw rooms at some local police precincts and phlebotomy training, according to program manager Penny Rarick.
