Community leaders can now be nominated for the Marshall Public Leadership Award and Marshall Youth Leadership Award until Dec. 2.
The awards honor emerging leaders with values of integrity, candor, courage and preparedness when serving the greater good that Gen. George C. Marshall embodied. Marshall led as a commander of the Vancouver Barracks from 1936 to 1938 and inspired generations of Clark County leaders.
To qualify for the public award, nominees must be 35 or younger, a Clark County resident, and demonstrate leadership and service abilities. The recipient will receive $4,000 for continuing education or professional development among opportunities to network with community leaders.
Nominees for the youth award must be a high school senior, Clark County resident, and also demonstrate leadership and service abilities. The youth recipient will receive a $4,000 Aléna K. Jarvis Memorial Scholarship and opportunities to connect with other community leaders. Five youth finalists will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
All finalists and recipients will be honored at the Marshall Awards Ceremony on Feb. 27.
