How Clark County College Football Players Fared: Andrew Boyle marks Oregon return with 50-yard field goal

Oregon kicker Andrew Boyle made a triumphant return Friday. The senior from Camas High School boomed a 50-yard field goal in the Ducks’ 31-10 win over Michigan State.

Boyle’s first career field goal happened to be the first of 50-plus yards for an Oregon kicker since 2008.

More significantly, it marked Boyle’s first action in nearly two years after he missed the entire 2023 season with a knee injury. He also made an extra point and how two kickoffs, which both went for touchbacks.

Boyle handled kickoff duties in 2022, recording 52 touchbacks in 75 kickoffs with an average of 63.2 yards per kickoff. He also punted twice.

Boyle talked about his journey back to health during preseason media availability.

“It’s been a long process, but, I mean, I feel like I’ve kept my body in great shape over this time,” Boyle said. “Had a lot of time to, you know, focus on different parts of my game, different ways to prepare myself. So I think it’s helped me become more mentally tough and just mentally prepared for the season.”

At Camas, Boyle played quarterback and safety in addition to handling kicking duties. He was a three-year letterwinner and helped the Papermakers win the Class 4A state title as a sophomore in 2016.

After spending three years at Washington State, Boyle transferred to Oregon before the 2022 season.
