Joey Ianello helps run Columbia River to 31-28 win over R.A. Long

Joey Ianello ran for 128 yards and two touchdowns as Columbia River rushed for 285 yards while holding off a furious R.A. Long rally in a 31-28 win on Friday at John O’Rourke Field.

Ezekial Kamakea added 99 rushing yards and a score, while Ha’aheo Delarose returned a punt 69 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter that put River up 31-13.

Jaxson Rivenes threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to TraMayne Jenkins followed by a 21-yard scoring throw to Devon Harris in the fourth quarter to pull R.A. Long within three points. The Lumberjacks got the ball back with a minute left, but the rally came up short at the River 20-yard line.

Jenkins caught 13 passes for 155 yards and a touchdown for R.A. Long.

Columbia River (1-2, 2-3) hosts Hockinson at 7 p.m. next Friday. R.A. Long (2-1, 3-2) travels to Woodland.
