Letter: Support Keethler in 17th District

Suggesting that Paul Harris’ performance over the last 14 years representing the 17th Legislative District in the House is a reason to move him to the state Senate misses the mark (“Elect Paul Harris in 17th Legislative District,” In Our View, Sept. 28).

I would submit that many issues in the 17th District have been ignored by Harris. His limited care of the 17th while in the House does not deserve a reward. In his debate with Marla Keethler, he offers an insensitive solution to homelessness. Could he have not worked on a solution over the last 14 years? Has he not seen the cost of housing to know that the lack of accessible and affordable housing should have been a priority for him? Or to see how climate change has changed the fire risk to his constituents?

Instead, reward our legislative district with a new representative and vote for Marla Keethler.
