Razor clam digs start Thursday in Long Beach, Twin Harbors, Mocrocks

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife shellfish managers have confirmed the first razor clam digs of the 2024-25 season will begin Thursday at Long Beach, Twin Harbors and Mocrocks.

The first dig will run until Monday, while the locations vary each day.

No digging is allowed before noon during digs when low tide occurs in the afternoon or evening. Also, the Department of Fish and Wildlife advises the most successful digging happens within one to two hours of low tide.

All diggers 15 or older must have a valid fishing license to harvest razor clans on any beach. You can purchase a license from the WDFW website or from local vendors across Washington.

This week’s schedule

  • Thursday: 7:38 p.m.; 0.3 feet; Long Beach, Twin Harbors, Mocrocks.
  • Friday: 8:10 p.m.; 0.1 feet; Long Beach, Twin Harbors, Copalis.
  • Saturday: 8:44 p.m.; 0.1 feet; Long Beach, Twin Harbors, Copalis.
  • Sunday: 9:20 p.m.; 0.1 feet; Long Beach, Twin Harbors, Mocrocks.
  • Monday: 10:02 p.m.; 0.3 feet; Long Beach, Twin Harbors, Mocrocks.

Tentative dates

WDFW has also announced tentative dig dates for the rest of the year. They are:

  • Oct. 15-21
  • Nov. 1-5
  • Nov. 13-19
  • Nov. 29-Dec. 5
  • Dec. 12-18
  • Dec. 28-31
