“It was a terrible night for everyone who voted against him. And guess what? It was a bad night for everyone who voted for him, too. You just don’t realize it yet.” That was Jimmy Kimmel, summing up what half of this country felt after Trump was elected.
Those of us who voted for Kamala Harris have paid attention to Trump’s failed first term and expect this term will be far worse. Those 10 million voters who sat on their hands and did not vote and those who voted for Trump appear to have made their respective decisions based on internet influencers rather than factual information. The Republican Party, helped by foreign actors, have mastered political messaging and they have achieved their goal of proving that lies and disinformation work on what has become a very slim majority of uninformed voters that have rained hell on the rest of us. Trump’s promise of retribution and revenge are coming to life in his proposed Cabinet appointments.
Now would be a good time to take a picture of your economic condition so you can remember how good it was a year from now. Brace yourself!
