Letter: Cannot surrender to tyranny

Many say that we should never let “politics” interfere with family and friends. Yeah, I get that, but this one is different. The truth does matter. Issues like treason, our democracy, international issues, mass deportations, global warming, truth to power (the Hitler complex) — issues that say so much about who we are — transcend normal political issues like monetary policy and state vs. federal authority.

It would be very hard not to see lines drawn. Civil war issues can split friends, family and the county beyond anything I have ever seen. Trump is fool’s gold, and we cannot surrender to tyranny no matter the price.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
