College football players from Clark County are spread across all divisions across the country. That includes the small private schools in the Midwest.
Skyview graduate Gabe Martin has found a football home at Northwestern College, an NAIA school in Orange City, Iowa. Saturday, the freshman had the biggest game of his career, rushing for 175 yards and four touchdowns in a 71-7 win over Briar Cliff.
With the win in its regular season finale, No. 11-ranked Northwestern improved to 8-2 and clinched a first-round bye in the 20-team NAIA playoffs.
Martin has seen action on both sides of the ball. He has appeared in six games as a running back with 236 yards on 36 carries, while also recording six tackles on defense.
At Skyview, Martin was a first-team all-league linebacker as a senior in 2021, helping the Storm to a 8-3 record and a 4A state playoff berth.
Here’s how other collegiate football players from Clark County at four-year programs fared. (Blank signifies a bye week).
