Letter: Heading into muck and mire

In a rush to consecrate our elected president, we seem to have forgotten that people died during his coup attempt, and many civil servants were wounded trying to keep the vice president alive from his boss’s delusions. After several exhaustive investigations, more than 1,000 of his followers have been identified, tried and convicted. As was their ringleader, who will now pursue an avowed vendetta by a convicted felon who raised his army against my country.

Like a rerun from an old-time plot in “Dallas,” he now asks us to believe that nothing happened, it was all a dream and he stands before the adulation of the masses continuing to spout inanities, lies and criminal rhetoric.

All his followers are deemed patriots and must be pardoned because he says so. He has now managed to captivate another sucker, with unlimited funds, who will bow to his smallest request. This illegal immigrant, not unlike the millions that Trump will be shipping out of our welcoming shores, stands foursquare behind Trump. A marriage that awaits only Putin to be consummated. Yes, we are down and heading deeper into the muck and mire of a concatenation of evil.
