BAGLEY DOWNS — Hailey Heath, volunteer coordinator for the city of Vancouver, spoke to the Fort Vancouver Lions Club in October, highlighting a variety of service opportunities throughout the community. Inspired by her enthusiasm, club member Diane joined a recent Flora & Fauna Friday event on Nov. 8 at The Downs Neighborhood Park in central Vancouver.
Nearly 50 pollinator-friendly coneflowers were planted during the event, and staff and volunteers worked to clear weeds, improving the habitat for native plants.
