Delays on southbound Interstate 5 are expected from 8 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday near Woodland. Washington Department of Transportation contractor M.J. Hughes Construction will be smoothing out the center lane of the North Fork Lewis River Bridge, according to a Department of Transportation travel advisory.
The left and center lanes will close overnight between mileposts 19 and 20. For safety concerns, the department asks drivers to slow down, pay attention and use caution through the work zone.
Earlier repairs led crews to finish the center lane by hand, creating a rough and bumpy surface. The upcoming work will help make the center lane smoother and safer, according to the transportation department.
