Letter: Harris can have bright future

This election left a lot of people sad, but there is reason to hope. Kamala Harris’ concession speech was not one of someone who intends to go away. She may return to presidential politics in 2028, following Richard Nixon’s model.

Nixon, who lost to John Kennedy in 1960, returned to California to run for governor and lost. Instead of going away, he campaigned for Republicans around the country and gave speeches and rebuilt his coalitions to pave his way back to the White House in 1968.

Kamala can do the same. She can run for California governor in two years and she would win, campaign for candidates in the midterm. She could then reintroduce herself to the electorate in 2028 with plenty of time to rebrand herself. She is a very talented politician and deserves another shot at the grand prize.
