Clark County’s four surviving high school football teams were rewarded with advantageous seeds by the state playoff committee on Sunday.

Camas was given the No. 1 overall seed and Skyview earned a home game for the first round of the Class 4A playoffs next weekend.

Seton Catholic and La Center each received one of four coveted first-round byes in the Class 1A state tournament.

The state tournament brackets were revealed on Sunday by the Washington State Activities Association’s playoff committee, which consists of coaches, administrators and members of the media.

Camas earning the No. 1 seed for the 4A tournament was no surprise. The Papermakers had an undefeated regular season and beat Stadium of Tacoma 56-3 in the state preliminary round on Friday.

Camas was also No. 1 in the WIAA’s RPI ranking and the unanimous No. 1 in the Associated Press Class 4A poll. Camas is in position to be the home team through the state semifinals.

Camas (10-0) will host No. 16 seed Curtis (6-4) at 7 p.m. Friday at Doc Harris Stadium. The Vikings, of University Place, finished fourth in the South Puget Sound League but lost only 14-12 to Sumner, which is the No. 2 seed in the 4A playoffs.

Skyview (7-3) earned the No. 7 seed and faces No. 10 Bothell at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kiggins Bowl.

The Storm are one of two 4A teams to have three losses and host a first-round game. Those losses included a 24-14 loss to Camas and a defeat to Oregon 6A powerhouse West Linn.

The Class 1A bracket has just 12 teams, meaning the top four seeds receive a bye into the quarterfinals. Seton Catholic (10-0) earned the No. 2 seed and La Center (9-1) received the No. 3 seed.

One year after reaching the semifinals, Seton Catholic outscored opponents this season by an average of 48-9. The Cougars will face either No. 7 Life Christian Academy or No. 10 King’s on Nov. 22 or 23.

La Center’s only loss came in the regular-season finale, a 29-21 defeat to Seton Catholic. The Wildcats will face either No. 11 Omak or No. 6 Montesano, which La Center beat 35-7 on Sept. 6.

Seton Catholic and La Center would face each other in the semifinals Nov. 30 should both win their quarterfinal games.

Ridgefield top seed in 2A girls soccer

Reigning state champion Ridgefield is the top seed in the Class 2A girls soccer state tournament. That comes after the Spudders (18-1-1) beat 2A Greater St. Helens League champ Columbia River 2-0 in the district championship match Saturday.

Ridgefield will host No. 16 Nathan Hale of Seattle in a first-round match Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Columbia River (18-2) is the No. 3 seed and will host No. 14 Kingston on Tuesday or Wednesday. The Rapids, which placed third last year, have reached at least the state semifinals in every tournament since 2016.

The 2A GSHL’s other two state playoff teams will be on the road. No. 10 R.A. Long travels to No. 7 North Kitsap while No. 12 Hockinson faces No. 5 Bainbridge.

4A GSHL champion Skyview is the No. 5 seed and hosts No. 12 Puyallup at 6 p.m Wednesday. No. 11 Camas travels to face No. 5 Curtis, which beat the Papermakers 1-0 in this season’s opening match.

Mountain View is the No. 16 seed in the 20-team 3A tournament. The league-champ Thunder host No. 17 University on Wednesday with the winner facing No. 1 Gig Harbor on Friday.

Trico League champ Seton Catholic (19-0) is the No. 2 seed in the 1A playoffs. The Cougars host No. 15 Kiona-Benton at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

King’s Way Christian drew the No. 13 seed and travels to face No. 4 Cashmere.
