Help set Clark County Fire District 3 priorities

Since voters approved a levy lid lift in August, Clark County Fire District 3 is looking forward to tackling many projects and needs. The public is invited to participate in the planning.

A budget presentation is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday, and a second budget meeting with public hearing is set for 6 p.m. Nov. 27. Both will be held at Fire District 3, Station 31, 17718 N.E. 159th St., Brush Prairie.

The levy lift will pay to hire and train additional firefighters, creating three-person engine companies. That’s the industry standard for fire districts of Fire District 3’s size, according to a statement. The levy lift will also replace a fire engine, ambulance and other aging equipment.

“We are grateful to our residents for prioritizing emergency services that save lives and property,” Fire Chief Scott Sorenson said. “We are accountable to our taxpayers and look forward to sharing improvements as they’re made.”
