Construction employment improving but industry struggles to fill positions as workers retire

Job opportunities abound with many projects in pipeline

Data shows employment in Clark County’s construction industry is improving, but one industry expert says companies just can’t find qualified candidates for open positions.

Jobs estimates from the Washington Employment Security Department point to higher employment in construction and mining in Clark County, around 18,000 people, in September compared with about 17,900 in August.
